I was trained in this craft in the London College of Fashion way back when and worked on a lot of glamorous garments for couturiers here in Ireland. I still try to incorporate it in my work and make garments, trim for wedding dresses and scarves. I teach it too here and there and am due to give a talk and workshops at the Embroiderers Guild of Ireland this September. It's not an easy thing to learn but the benefits of perseverance are great, there many applications...lace making and applique to name but a few.
